I have a Percy's Wheelrite if you need it. You're welcome to borrow it, just help me out on shipping .. it might save you some $$ ording the wrong backspacing!
It will give you an idea where a 17 would sit, a 20" .. whatever you wanted. It bolts to the hub so you can turn the wheels lock to lock and spin it around to make sure you're not going to rub .. it helps with tires sizes too.

its a matter of measuring from the bolt flange to the inside of the wheel well or control arm. depending on the wheel size.
CC69rat has the right tool. It will make getting the right wheel much easier
