Re: Made an "un-popular" decision with my 307!
Been shopping ebay religiously. Looks like i might go with Vortec heads. The machine shop i took it to told me that he has a set laying on the shelf. He is going to have to put around 150 in them to get them ready, but will let me have them for 450 or 5 depending on how much he puts into them.
His rough estimate today was that with the 270H, some other small tweaks, that with the Vortec heads and intake he should be able to get the motor close to 350HP..... He will even Dyno it at build end.
I plan on doing as much of it as I can, but i trust this guy and if the money is right i might just have him do most of it....
We will see what a good mechanic/machinest can do with a budget 307....
