My `71 has been in the family for decades. When my grandfather passed away my uncle moved in with my grandmother to assist. (She never drove). One morning they were going to head out when they found the hood slightly open and the air filter on the ground.

Turns out the carb was missing! A few days later the Chevy truck across the street that the folks had been tinkering with for months suddenly ran!

Eventually my grandmother passed, my uncle got the truck. Eventually he passed now I have it. The truck now has a Carter AFB. While going through his stuff I found a Quadrajet that looks (by it's number) that it's a replacement carb configured for a 72. I'd use it if I had the choke for it. I want to get better than 10 MPG!
