Is it a 3/4 ton? If so, try and get an idea on if it is an Eaton (round cover) or Dana 60 (more angualr square cover) and what gear ratio it it running. Some had really deep gears which will get TERRIBLE fuel mileage. In my experience, Dana 60's are easier to find better gear ratios for.
LWB stepsides were not "rare" when new and are only "rare" now because not a lot of people rebuild/ restore. Like a lot of people have said on here, "Rare does not always equal desirable." LWB stepsides are an "acquired taste". If you like it, go for it. Just be prepared when you sell it as a LWB fleet or SWB step usually brings more $$$
It might be worth $5k TOPS if it was COMPLETELY rust free underneath and in common areas and had no issues with undoing someone else's rigging.
