I'll give a suggestion. I have used EZ-Off oven cleaner to remove paint from plastic (car models, slot cars, sizzlers, etc.) for years. Doesn't touch the plastic at all. Sometimes it takes patience and some scrubbing, saved lots of old collectibles.
Also removes anodizing from aluminum.
