Hub caps get changed over the course of 40+ years. All trucks from custom all the way up to supers could be optioned with full hub caps. One of the give aways as to whether a truck is a Cheyenne or not is if it has the headliner and trim. (alrhough even this can be copied, but takes some effort and if the headliner is removed you can tell the cut trim from the facory stamped trim. The Cheyenne cab will have slots stamped into the roof that other trucks do not. Also, Cheyennes came with seals between the cowl and fender. You can see this seal from inside when the door is opened. BTW, The seals are being made repro but not the brackets. I also look at the Spid label. I use all of these items when inspecting a truck to see if it's a real Cheyenne, not just one thing.
