Re: Good Deal? Or Great Deal?
I had a 81 Chevy duelly with a 6.2 that had over 300,000 when I sold it and the only problem was the glowplug relay. I now have a 83 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton Suburban that has 6.2 and the fuel pump was out when I got it and have had no problems with it. Ive heard that 6.2 and 6.5 love fresh oil. If you dont change the oil regular than you will spin a bearing. Hasnt happend to me just what I heard. Mabey is hasnt happened to me because I change me oil. If the glow plug relay goes out DONT BUY ANOTHER they are expensive. Take a old Ford style starter relay and run a momentary swith inside the cab to activate the relay your self. Turn on the key, hold the switch for 7-15 seconds depending on the temp, and crank er up. Ive thought about the same conversion on my 67 but really like the lope of a healty small block through Flowmasters
