the GM truck line of motors are based around the LS1 vette motor. there are some differences. iron blocks vs. aluminum. the truck heads will bolt to the LS1 motor, and the LS1 intake will bolt on the truck motor. it is cheaper to find a 6.0L motor and build it. more torque. take the 6.0L and order a 4 inch stroke crank, rods, and pistons from lunati. comes out to 408ci. add ported 6.0L heads and a LS6 intake. i know i am skipping alot of things but you can get an idea. i have seen this motor combo make over 500hp and 510ft lbs tq. and still pull down 18mpg. it is just a thought.
