Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

Yes sir, Bud did a great job! I think my brother wants him to do some on the Vette now..............

This weekend we got some more done. Friday night my brother Scott welded up the rest of the holes in the LH frame rail and ground them down. I've been trying real hard to figure out a way to get exhaust out the back. I think for now it'll get a stack. There just is 0 room when the suspension is dropped. I can't see doing all this work and not utilizing the drop option. I can always revisit my rear exhaust later. I got my shocks mounted and welded some odds and ends on Saturday. Nick started putting the head studs in Saturday afternoon and finished them Sunday evening. Sunday I started redoing my trans cross member. Yep, more Pittsburg steel. I'll get pics up tomorrow of the cross member and mount. I still have to finish them. Sunday evening Nick also put a block heater on it and plugged it in. While he was waiting for it to warm up, he polished the top of my VC and then repainted it. He also installed my injector lines. Late last night he unplugged the engine so it could cool until the morning. This morning he retorqued the head, and set the overhead. Little by little!

We also started coming up with a plan to lower the intercooler more so the hood latch will fit. more on that tomorrow too...........
