The ones up front, circled in red, is where the coolant exits the block thru the thermostat and then into the radiator. There are water jackets at the rear, circled in white, so the heads will be the same on each side. Otherwise, there would be right side and left side heads.

An intake manifold simply distributes the air/fuel mixture to each cylinder. Also, that little port in the middle is an exhaust gas crossover to help the carb warm up faster.
