Look on the top of the frame rail between the driver upper control arm and the steering gear box. The same exact stamp will be on top of the driver frame rail under the cab. You are looking for an 8 digit stamp with the second digit being a letter.

Examples:

9S123456

9= 1969 (first digit is the year)

S= Saint louis assembly

123456= assembly sequence/partial VIN (6 digits only)

7A123456

7= 1967

A= Atlanta assembly

123456= assembly sequence/partial VIN

let us know what you find.
The S66040 is the number stamped on top of the frame by the steering gear box as well as under the cab on top of the frame rail. That is why I couldnt ever find anything online. It seems to be missing a digit or 2. I wonder if any other years came in this format, where there is only 6 digits? Do you think that maybe the stamp messed up somehow.
