Re: Are 3/4 and 1 ton A-arms the same?
Well, I took both upper and lower control arms out. I've had this truck for almost 12 years and had no idea that a previous owner had upgraded the control arms, spindles, and brakes to mid 80's stuff. My parts truck was a 71, so I found a set from an 80 model GMC 1 ton.
The lower's shafts/bushing set up in the replacement arms feel pretty loose, so I was going to replace them. Now, my question is how do you know where to position the shafts?
Do you screw them to the middle? Both of my old ones appear to screwed almost all the way to the front. Does an alignment shop need to set the correct position when I'm done? This is the first time I've had a one ton apart like this, a lot different than the C10's.
