Another little factoid correction,on C/K 10-30 series the painted steel hubcaps were used through '75. 1976 was the first year for the new design polished aluminum caps,which proved to be the last hubcaps offered by GM.
I agree the Blazer in photo is unusual, I suspect it was a publicity photo that was doctored. GM is famous for modifiying older photos to put into newer brochures. About the hubcaps, I respect your contributions and knowledge on this site, and from being from an era where you can remember these trucks when they were brand new. 1976 was in fact the first year of the new aluminum flat hubcap, but it was not used on base models till 1979. Earlier base models continued to use the carryover hubcap through 1978. Here is a brand new 1977 Custom Deluxe with the hubcap in question.
