Re: street demon 625 carb?

I have the Street Demon 625 on my truck and like it a lot. I ran it on my old 327 for a while and it is now on my 355. Very easy to tune, essentially the same as an Edelbrock (Carter), but seems to have most of the inherent issues designed out.

Worked perfect out of the box on the 327, and required minor tuning on the 355.

For my application I had to install a larger accelerator pump nozzle, put the accelerator pump linkage on its highest setting, and adjust the secondary air door opening. So far I have left the rods/jets/springs alone.

I find it very smooth, great throttle response, huge kick in the pants when the secondaries open. Starts easy, idles smooth.

They have a pretty decent manual and I've had good luck with their customer service. I called the tech line a few times while I was adjusting it.

I had an Eddy 1406 before this, and gave up when I could never get a consistent idle. That carb was on the truck when I bought it, and I think it needed to be rebuilt.
