You don't want to cheap out on the hinges. I've seen the cheap repop ones fold in from the spring pressure.
Absolutely agree...trying to figure out what is the best route without breaking the bank. I am not even sure the new stock GM hinges are of the quality the old ones were so maybe new stock stuff is not the best way to go. I have seen a couple of posts from people having issues with recently purchased OEM Chevy hinges.

I just launched an email to the hinge repair guy to see what he offers outright. We'll see what he has available. I'll also contact GMC Paul and see what he has to say about his re-pop hinges.
