As others have said do the safety stuff first but as you can afford start buying parts you know you're going to need. Keep an eye out for parts even if you're not going to use them for awhile, if you see a good deal grab it. I collected everything I needed before I even started tearing my truck down, it was nice having it all there and paid for.
