I am having the same issue on a 1970 Pontiac. The bolts are also VERY tight, much more than the spec. I also had a nightmare getting the hoses to stop leaking on my 72 Cutlass. Are they making the copper washers more cheaply and less effective? I am 64 years old and have been doing brakes since I was 18 and NEVER had problems before. I just put on the washers, installed the bolt, torqued it down and drove away.

When you heat them, do you install while still hot?
