18" tire load rating question??
So I went to my local discount tire yesterday to buy tires for my 1971 C10. I have 18x8 and 18x9.5 boss 338 Wheels. I've lowered truck with CPP 5" kit. I'm looking at getting 245/45R18 for the fronts and 275/40R18 for the rears. The guy at discount told me the load rating on these tires won't handle the weight of the truck! So he would sell them to me but wouldn't install them or give any warranties. So... My question to you guys is, should I worry about load rating or run 'em anyway? If I need to change tire size I will, I just want tires to look beefy and fill the wheel wells.
