Dont do burnouts ,they will get you ,its quite costly .We used to stay for a whole week at an extended stay place ,much cheaper than Hotels .Go to the swap meets the day they are setting up and you get in free although you get one ticket with registration. All the events are fun ,the veterans hospital is cool ,they bring out the veterans to see the cars .The opening parade is fun but you have to line up early or you wont get in.The last saturday the whole strip becomes a perking lot ,find backroads around it and keep your tank full.
