That was what I did the first time and it failed. The booster might be fine, but the studs were too short to mount the master cylinder and the combination valve bracket. This might be a 3/4 ton thing only.
If it interchanges and fits, I don't see a reason not to go parts-store. But when I did it didn't fit.
