If you found a truck similar to that truck, you would spend at least $10k on the crew itself. then engine\trans, paint, body, electrical, the bed, misc. I believe you would have $35k plus your labor. $55k for that finished specialty truck I think that is reasonable asking price for the work it would take to replicate it, along with the fact a crew is pretty rare!

I do agree that $85k appraisal is a bit overboard but most of the appraiser's take the owners attachment into consideration as well.
