He has a BB. I would follow his advice still unless those manifolds are horrible. I run headers only because that is what fits my heads (D ports). If you want some better flow look into Sanderson's as they are cast iron. This eliminates all the headaches of bad sealing, leaks, scratched coatings, or rusting out. My coated headers have a good amount of rust after 2 years and they are coated and had the proper break in procedure.
