There's really no one common height measurement because a 45 year old truck will vary with tire and wheel size, the amount of collapse over time and use of the truck. There were different factory springs used as well depending on options ordered when the truck was built. If you plan on lowering the front, the first lowering option would be the "lowering spindles"...They will drop the front as much as 2-1/2" without changing springs or steering geometry. I have two 72 C-10 LWB trucks, one lowered and the other factory height with 16" wheels w/275/70/R16 tires. 19-1/2" inches on the factory front height, 15-1/4" inches on the dropped truck.
