You can also use coil spring spacers to raise the front end a moderate amount. Items like this work very well:

Bias ply tires are much softer than radials, and don't hold the road as well in bad weather. They allow the vehicle to wander much more than with radial tires, and they don't last as long. They do look cool however if you're willing to live with the trade offs.
