I believe they are the same internally. I was told many years ago if the small flat strap that bolts to the solenoid had 1 vs. 2 straps it was not the high torque unit. I have always looked for the 2 strap design. I did switch to the 90s starters which look similar only high torque. They used them on 4.3 S10 and 454 engines. They are fairly cheap and crank in all conditions even extreme heat. The smaller design allows one hand install and gives more room by exhaust.
