You didn't say what year truck you had. If you have a drum brake truck then spindles aren't available unless you are converting to disc.

IMO, if you have a drum truck you SHOULD be converting to disc...

Spindles have no effect on ride, alignment (shouldn't at least...) spring rate, travel, etc. So, my opinion again, is that is the BETTER way to lower. But most guys want more than 2 1/2" when they drop so you do both. 2" springs have minimal effect on all of the above.

My truck is dropped with ECE 2 1/2" spindles and 2" springs so I did put my money where my mouth is.
