Power Steering with LONG water pump?
Quick question for those in the know...
My 1970 C-10 has a 350 SBC with what I just learned is the LONG water pump. (PO swapped in an engine from a 1974 GM passenger car many years ago) I'm looking to add power-steering to this truck, so I as I understand it, the standard power steering brackets from most of our trucks won't work on this truck.
Where should I source a pump and brackets that will fit this truck? I do plan on replacing the water pump, so should I just swap it to a short pump? (I'm assuming you can't just swap in the short pump as the pulleys won't line up, correct?)
If it helps to answer the questions above, this truck as a two groove pulley on the crank, and the 3-wire alternator is mounted on a long bracket on the driver's side.
