So interesting!

68, you were right. I was wrong about my headlight switch. Easy to flip in my head, with the panel out. My throttle knob is on the right, below my windshield wiper/washer control. Sorry about that.

Bilt: Now I have to go look at what I have... maybe it's the ratcheting style, after all. I just figured it was a vernier control, not knowing any better.

Thanks all, for the ideas and memories! I find it all very interesting.

I wondered if there was some kind of PTO, like on my 69 jeep. Sounds reasonable, about the field crawl. Also interesting about the post where a rear wheel goes up on a jack, tire comes off and a belt goes on. What a different time we live in, today.
