I totally agree with this comment. If all the paper work is in order (especially if it is currently registered) there should be no problems there. Crawl around under the truck and have a good look see for signs of serious rust, possible butchering and anything that seems out of place. The truck is what it is, a project. A lot will depend on the amount of work you can do yourself. I would walk away if he WON'T let you drive it.... If it goes down the road decent, runs good and the tranny shifts good I know I'd probably buy it.
