If you're getting spark why do you think it's the distributor. Temporarily run a 12 gauge wire from the positive battery terminal to the distributor BAT terminal then check your spark. If it's not a hot spark then I would suspect the distributor. Your distributor needs a full 12 volts to give the hottest spark. Where did you run the BAT wire from? If you used the stock coil wire that went to the positive coil terminal, then you are not getting a full 12 volts.
