My 69 was an ambulance / first repsponse vehicle for a NM VFD. It came as a basic model Custom 10 and they optioned for the 396 BB, Turbo 400, heavy duty Brakes, heavy duty cooling system and large capacity alternator. It did come with a 12 bolt but it is a non posi unit.
Lucky for me it wasn't a chop/add a top conversion. I have done some serious searching on the net to find information about these conversions. ANd honestly there is not alot out there. But it seems that the Burb's would be bought and shipped to a coach builder for the conversion in most cases. It was there they added what they wanted. As far as something coming standard from the factory (like posi rear), i don't think there was a norm. It was basically what you added to your option list when you purchases the vehicle.
Hope this helps. BTW Burb71 is correct on how to check for posi.
