They dont have a fitting. If u look, on 1 end they are pressed on to the gear from the steering box. On the other end, it is connected to the center link(drag link) over time it can wear a place n the center link. This can cause a little play n the steering wheel. If u havent replaced all the steering linkage including the steering box, then i would. It's cheap insurance. Thats what i did on mine. I got a kit and replaced it all. I had to order a new center link as it wasnt n the kit. But like I said before, if u are going to do it all then do it and you are done for another 3 or 4 decades..lol.
