They most definitely will scratch. Full wheel covers have many barbed like tangs that pinch and grip the wheels. If you take the covers on and off too many times you have to bend the tangs out to make sure they stay on secure or you have frisbees flying off your truck. (Believe me I know) Every time I put a new set of covers on I bend the tangs out then take the truck for a short test drive around the neighborhood and country roads. Usually one cover comes flying off and I have to bend the tangs more (Happened last night on my test drive)
But yes they scratch.
