A little different, but should work fine. with the repairs i made to the 67 harness, things look good, everything works except the truck starts in the ON position and i afraid the the starter will stay engaged. I don't know if it will disengage 100%,but i don't want to chance it. Its not supposed to be starting in the ON position right?

Since this problem involves engagement of the starter, I suggest you disconnect the purple wire from the starter and connect a buzzer or light to it for test purposes only.. The buzzer/light will tell you when the circuit is working properly and will save wear and tear on the starter..
The purple wire on the ignition switch goes through a neutral safety switch and then to the starter solenoid that activates the starter. This occurs ONLY when the ignition switch is in the START position . First thing to check is to be sure the purple wire is connected to the proper (start) terminal on the ignition switch.. If this checks out ok, then a wire that is "hot" when the ignition is ON is shorting to either the solenoid "S" terminal or the purple wire itself...
