Did that as step one, it 100% helped the movement of my hood (which I didn't actually expect). But I am going to revisit this when I can get some help. One person holding up the hood, pushing up - while I deal with the bolts.

Lastly, I misread the "loosen the two rear bolts" - I read that as two bolts across the two hinges, not the two back bolts on *each* hinge. One of those bolts on the back are kind of hidden, I didn't see it until just now in the garage looking for the other back one. Silly me.
