I also purchased an AC Delco pump that screwed into a tank mounted grommet but did not come with a nut or filter. Member Greasy Harley informed me the Anco 63-01 pump comes with the filter nut.
Here is what I ended up with and I believe it will work (not tested, too cold and I painted the bracket).

I like this idea. I have some reservoir with pump and it works well but it really doesn't set on the supplied bracket very well. I actually have the reservoir tie wrapped to the bracket - which it still slides off a bit and is always cockeyed - which annoys me to no end.
Looks like a nice mod, which I still have the original reservoir / bracket in my attic. I'll have to give this some thought - thank you for posting this.
