I powered coated my transmission gray, which may be close to argent?
However, I have also used what's called almost chrome powder coating without the clear.
Looks just like new aluminum and cleans up easily.
Plugging the holes, before coating the case, was the hardest part.
I am including a picture of a hood hinge I coated with the almost chrome powder.
