Does anyone know how to tell what transmission I have from these numbers.
19D060885 stamped on flat on passenger side near flywheel. I need a flywheel cover. So far 1968 Step Side Chevy Truck 1972 Caprice 400 Engine Now I need to know what transmission is in it. Thanks Twhiz23 |

It is a manual or auto?
If manual, post a picture of the side cover where the shift linkage is. If its auto, post a picture of the pan from the bottom.

I went through this earlier this year. If you write down any casting numbers on the tranny and start googling them eventually you'll figure it out. That's how I did it. I tried yours, but came up with nothing.
