Copper/ Brass Nuts?
Hello All, I pulled some nuts and blots from the cross-member and the nuts appear to be copper is this correct? Its a 68?

One reason someone used copper nuts/bolts is they do not rust.
FWIW...Copper nuts are OE on my old ford tractor exhaust manifold. Have fun....don t. ..... |

Check the nuts with a magnet. Plating of bolts and nuts with copper was done to prevent rust.

I probably went too far, but I had mine re-plated. I don't know why they copper plated these nuts, but if that's how they were, that's how mine's gonna be.
