Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

BIG UPDATE AS OF 10/26/09...see post #14
I wanted to put this out to everyone. There is a group of us working to organize a huge regional get together in Colorado early next summer. It would be open to anyone who wants to attend. And would be a weekend long (2+ day) chance for a large group of us to get together and enjoy the one thing we all have in common...GM trucks.

If you are interested in attending, please vote yes on the poll. Right now the main goal here is to get a good idea of how many people would attend an event like this next summer.

Thank you all!
Here is the link to our discussion of the event. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=364942

I would love to attend, but it's a bit of a drive. Good luck with your planning.

Re: Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

Is this a pole to see who would like to attend from other regions? Is that why it`s in General Discussion?I`d say, sure.I`d love to go.Considering it`s so far off and times are so uncertain,I really shouldn`t commit.it does help to know long in advance so a plan be made.
It sure would be great to catch a meet in another part of the country.I`d like to think, any member is welcome to any one of these meets if they can arrange it.

Yes,that is why I put it here.

They are trying to set up a central located event that would be open to all years, and draw form all parts of the country.

Re: Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

Exactly...thanks again. We are in the planning stages and we need an idea of how many people we should plan for. From our local members we would probably have somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30 members. Plus we want to get as many people from all over the place as we can. Right now the discussion is leaning torward June. We want an idea of numbers to help us plan our location.

Yes DrivewayDreams, if it's in Greeley's area or as far south as Denver I'd try to make it. We might even try to drive one of my junkers!

Re: Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

................................... HUGE UPDATE!!..........................................

I just heard back from the gal in charge of the event in Loveland. It is July 10 & 11, 2010. In downtown Loveland Colorado. I think she said it is called "Summerfest in the Rockies". There is fireworks planned around 9pm on Saturday night. Food, Beer garden, local vendors, etc. The will be a whole car show area and we can have as much room as we need. They would just block off as many streets as we can take up. She said if we have 50 or we have 250, it is fine with them. They would charge us $5 per vehicle to help with costs.

There is plenty of places to see and things to do. We could still roll out in the afternoon and do a couple cruises. And there are hotels within short drives of the event for the "out of towners". Let me know what you all think.

Re: Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

Well OK then Driveway Dreams, we are going to try to make arrangements to be there. My sisters and my wife's uncle are in the Denver area so we may be able to just make a vacation of it.

I can give a light maybe. Early summer is usually very busy business wise, but if it hit the right weekend I may be able to pull it off.

Re: Rocky Mountain Regional Meet

Thanks for the expressed interest. I am not looking to have commitments from people as much as a good idea of how many spaces we might need. Here is the details I have so far for it again.
