Q on adapter
I'm working on removing the incorrect broken np203 from my rig and putting a correct/working np205 in that came from a 73/74 model. my trans is a th350
I picked up a 205 and luckily it has an adapter. Sadly, after I found a shifter and bolt, I found out the holes were stripped. I first thought about doing a heli-coil fix. The kit is fairly expensive, plus I dont have a drill to handle the bit I would need. Looked at a new one from summit. All I have to say is  Slightly hunted for some used adapters. I am finding a wide variation on these and not sure whats what, so I'm wanting some help here on making sure I get the right one. I'm wanting to know what year(s) these options where around. I know there were two bolt sizes used. 1/2 or 9/16. There is a figure 8 pattern, and round pattern. Any other things I need to be aware of?

ok, so it appears there is an adapter with bearing, or adapter with seal.

Try looking on ebay and then put WTB on the parts board. The TB 350/NP 205 adapter usually runs around $75 / $150 used. Also start calling Junk yards - these adapter were used from early 70's to late 70's in K5, K10 and K20's.

Ive found some, I just want to figure out the differences so when I buy I know its the right one. Ive bought many parts for this truck to get them and find out they are wrong. Then have problems selling at a loss... if they sell.

just design changes. the last one was 1980 for the 27 spline.
i have two seal style adapters. pretty sure they are later style, not sure when because the tags on the 205 were gone. wish i could help more. wither one will work fine, just get the corresponding coupler style. |

Thanks. Just bought one off evil bay and comes with coupler, mounts, bolts, and whole bunch of stuff. Hopefully I can make it all work.
