Cleaned a few visors
I had a thread over in the general section on what’s a better product than Armor-all? Something called 303 came out as a favorite. I finally bought some and decided to give it a try. Figured I would use some Simple Green with a rag and a soft brush for initial cleaning and then some 303.
Grabbed a handful of visors out of my stash, tossed em on my bench and couldn’t find my Simple Green. But I did find this gallon of Mr Clean stuff I got for a buck at work. It did a nice job overall. I decided to grab my heat gun and see if I could work out a few of the “divots” in the visors while I was at it. Heat gun helped, but I didn’t get them totally smooth like I wanted. Next I added a coat of the 303, and I think they turned out pretty decent.

Those look nice. I'll have to try that 303.

Lookin' good, Mark. I've been using 303 for years -- though not as often as I should!

Re: Cleaned a few visors
It looks like it works really well. I just replaced my dash pad - I might have to get some to keep it looking new.

Re: Cleaned a few visors
That looks great. The thread has deteriorated and visors split open on my truck. I think they would be fine if resewn. Have you ever done that and if so, how do you find the appropriate thread?

Re: Cleaned a few visors
As others have stated, those came out great. Thanks for the heads up on the 303. I'll look for some too for my interior pieces.

Re: Cleaned a few visors
Cleaned the last three I have here at the house. They turned out nice too. The one in the middle didnt have an arm on it and there were remnants of a factory visor sticker. I had to pull out the Goof Off for that one. Its not as nice as the other two.
I still have a pile more stashed away I need to dig out. Im tired of the browns, maybe Ill see how blue cleans up =)

Re: Cleaned a few visors
Grandson (8) called the other day and asked I had anything he could do to earn some money. He came over today and helped me go through some of the stash of truck parts. Then we came home and I set up his bench for visor cleaning.
One very close to being finished (unsure what the color is called), it started out as bad as the blue one did. And the blue one before and also close to being finished. He did a pretty darn good job in my eyes.

Re: Cleaned a few visors
Thanks Leon, if only he was a tad taller he could reach the pedals better in the little red race car and I could send him on his way =)

I can wait till spring Mark. Maybe he will be taller by then.... ![]() I usually use Simple Green for cleaning my visors and door panels then hit them with the pressure washer. I use a wide pattern tip so the spray isn't so concentrated. Works pretty good. So far I haven't found the 303 stuff. That's the problem with living in a rural area. LockDoc

Re: Cleaned a few visors
Oh nice! You stepped up and bought the cleaner. I just used cheap cleaner I got at work and used the 303 Protectant for the final coat. Let us know how well it works.
