Re: duct insulation for truck ?
I don't see why it wouldn't work.
However, you may try a piece on piece of sheet metal, heat it up a bit on the backside with a heat gun or torch, and see if it stinks or if the glue gets runny. but like I said, it should work and your not paying for the Dynamat name!

Re: duct insulation for truck ?
do you think the cab floor would get as hot as a heat duct?

Re: duct insulation for truck ?
more than likely, hotter. especially if your running headers or a modded out mill.
is there a temperature rating on the packaging? got to remember that ductwork is much thinner sheet steel and can dissapate heat faster. the floor will tend to soak heat up and store it, and in turn gets AND stays hotter for longer. enough for the metallurgy lesson!

Re: duct insulation for truck ?
I think it will get mashed down and not insulate with no loft.It will only serve to absorb and retain moisture...not good.Step away from the duct insulation.

Re: duct insulation for truck ?
I've got it in mine. The floor never gets that hot even with headers and pipes right below. It has held up well over the last 3 months without crushing and it helps with road noise considerably. I'll be using it in the stepside as well when it's time.
No doubt that Dynamat is better for sound and insulation, but they are very proud of that product!

Re: duct insulation for truck ?
I also have the "Reflectix" aluminum bubble wrap on the floors of 2 vehicles. It works great for keeping out the header heat.
