Re: will 86 caprice spindles bolt up to a 67 pick up
Never heard of anyone trying this swap and I would question the strength of passenger car spindles on a truck. However, if the height is similar and the ball joints will fit properly with no slack, then they should physically bolt up.

Re: will 86 caprice spindles bolt up to a 67 pick up
There's more to it than just being able to bolt them in.
The steering arms are integral to the spindle. Caprices (b-bodies) have different suspenion geometry vs. trucks & thus the steering arm would likely have different requirements (different height, different length, different arc, etc....). If it's not correct (or as close to it as possible) there could be severe steering related issues.

Stock disc spindles from a 71 or 72 are fairly easy to find. Also, lots of guys upgrade to dropped spindles and sell their old ones on Ebay or Craigslist for cheap.

Re: will 86 caprice spindles bolt up to a 67 pick up
I put spindles on mine from late 70's or early 80's half ton. I did this for the same reason as you are and also for disc brakes. I did have to change the lower ball joints but they're 25 bucks each. The biggest part is getting the brakes set up if you haven't already done that.

Re: will 86 caprice spindles bolt up to a 67 pick up
I haven't personally done it, but a lot of guys here take the whole front end off of a later 70's or 80's square body. I hear it bolts right in. there are like 14 bolts that you have to remove and the whole thing comes out. That way you get the spindles, brakes and all in one chunk.

Re: will 86 caprice spindles bolt up to a 67 pick up
Yes. Front suspensions from 71-87 (5-lug) are a direct interchange w/the 63-70 front suspensions. Try finding an earlier year model if possible (pre-81) or if it's between 81-87, measure the rotors because you want the 12x1.25" rotors/spindles. They also come in a light duty 12x1.00" version which uses a different spindle & the rotors are more prone to warping.

If you get the whole setup from a new truck, get the proportioning valve and possibly the master cyl. too.
