I have a 72 c10 LB with a 250 inline. It came with a small aftermarket wheel. My buddy gave me a 3 spoke steering wheel off a 67-68 burb, when i put it on it dosn't go far enough down to go on the splines. Is there a easy mod or trick i can do to be able to use it on my 72? Thanks

It should work without any problems. Is there an adapter for the aftermarket wheel that is still on the stock column?

I have removed everything. I can see the bearing. it fits on fine just barely touches the splines.

Has the shaft slipped down? Pop the hood and see if the shaft and bearing are still in the bottom of the column correctly.

The 67/68 wheels bolt on exactly like the 69-72s.

I will check that tomarrow. From what research I did it should fit no problem just differnt amount of spokes. Does that sound right?

Yes you should be able to put it on in a matter of seconds. Something is buggered up. Hopefully someone didn't modify your column when the put the aftermarket wheel on it.

I think it will be the shaft has just moved down, hopefully quick fix thanks

Look for a spring at the bottom of the upper shaft.

I just have to have a helper put the nut on while I push the shaft up. Works every time.
