I hear many here say they put on a hundred miles over the winter etc. and i was checking my '69 C/10 ~ since I bought it last August , it has logged over 16,000 miles , mostly working .
Not bad for an unrestored survivor with a bad engine . Your rig may be forty years old but don't let that dissuade you from driving and enjoying it ~ grease it regular , keep it in sharp tune and DRIVE it as it was meant to be .

Re: Actual Miles Driven
Your survivor truly is a survivor. They don't build em like that anymore.

Sadly you're right .
This is why I do not own any modern vehicles ~ SWMBO let me re spray the hated Toyletta Corroded and we gave it to Grand Daughter as a H.S. Graduation present , as it works *perfectly* in every way , she loved it , i wanted to bash it with a sledgehammer then burn it to a crisp..... Even considering the cost and effort to rebuild an old worn out truck , I feel it is money well spent . I live in Southern California , land of more cars than Detroit ever had (and Buick sized pot holes) and few actually DRIVE their oldies , this is sad and wrong IMO .

Less than 370 miles in the past year. Since I retired, it mostly sits unless I need to haul something.

Re: Actual Miles Driven
I put around 3500 on my old green '68 in the last year, maybe a few more because I had the speedo unhooked for a couple weeks.

Bought mine in 2001 and only drive it in the summer. I've put 5000 miles in 10years and haven't taken it out yet this year.

Re: Actual Miles Driven
My 71 serves as my daily driver and has for most of the last seven years. If I don't do anything but go to work it gets 200 miles a week put on it.
I was checking the receipt the other day and since I put the aluminum wheels on it six years ago I've recorded close to 70,000 miles on the truck. I do have a box with wheels that is supposed to be my daily driver economy rig but it is sitting in the yard with a vibration problem in the trans-axle. |

My avatar truck has 8,670 since total restoration. Drive her 5 of seven days to the shop and to lunch every weekend with the wifey. So It's my daily driver. Cheers, Pat

Re: Actual Miles Driven
Mine had 122k and change when I bought it back in 2000 and now it has 207k and change, so about 85,000 in 12 years. It is my daily driver six days a week back and forth to work, but rarely on Sunday unless there is something to haul.

Maybe so......
I don't miss my ex atall , she gave me my best gift ever , my son . OTOH , my current sweet , is a very special lady indeed ~ she doesn't need me nor take any crap from anyone , she allows me to be with her and I love her very much . Who else would suggest we drive my old noisy 6 Cylinder Pickup to Las Vegas in AUGUST because the previous visit , I had to leave some hard to find European Spec. Mercedes bumpers in the junkyard due to lack of carrying space ? . She never complains about me finding (and crawling through) old junkyards no matter where we go ~ East Coast , Jamaica , everywhere . Whatever she asks , I try to do for her .

Re: Actual Miles Driven
I put mine on the road around the middle of Febuary and I've put somewhere around 4000 miles on with very little problem. I'm currently having some radiator problems again, but hey it's nearly as old as me!

Re: Actual Miles Driven
Once my 67 c10 lwb is ready to hit the road it will be my DD for the rest of my life. No more vehicles for me but this old rusty truck. Plans are to keep the l6 250/th350 and just rebuilt it whenever it needs it later down the line.
