power steering

Looking to put power steering in my 67 c20 does anybody on here have a complete power steering set up that they would be willing to sell to me or at least some of the parts?

67 trucks originally came with "power assist" that had cylinders that bolted onto tou stock linkage but used the manual box. In 68 GM changed this to the normal ps that we know of today that uses a power steering box. (You dont wan't the hassle of the old style ps set up. ) I have never converted a 67 to ps but have been told that the frme doesnt jave the contour in it to fit a ps box but a little work with a torch and hammer is all it takes.

Not sure if this pump would bolt up correctly to a sbc though. Looks different.

Btw i forgot to mention that the ps box is the same through the late 80's. boxes up through 87 (91 crew cans and suburbans) will bolt up bit hoses have metric fitings. I habe read that the threDs are close enough and will connect and not leak but havent tried it.

thank you....ya I know the conversion will be a quite the task but I am pretty sure that it will be worth it

The hardest part is getting the old box off. The pitman arm is usually a beast to get loose. I bought a dedicated puller and heat the shart up with a torch to get it loose. You run the risk of burning up the seal so dont use heat on the donor box if you can help it. As a matter of fact, you might take a few moments and check the price of a rebuilt box at a local automparts store. It might be cheaper than buying and paying shipping on an old box of unknown quality.
