Manual steering column to auto tilt problem...😕

OK, I have searched all over this forum for this solution. I am having a fully-rebuilt 1972 Blazer 350 engine and a fully rebuilt1986 corvette 700R4 installed in my "heirloom" 1968 C10 stepside. I also am having a fully-rebuilt (NOS parts) tilt automatic steering column installed. Goodbye to the old tired inline 6, manual steering (hated it!) and three on the tree manual transmission. But here is the problem. The old steering column had a flat harness plug, and the new automatic tilt has a curved crescent moon shaped one. The only adaptor that I find that is related to this problem is exactly the OPPOSITE of what I need. I need a male flat with a female curved crescent. But these semmingly do not exist. I suppose I can cut off the male end of the old flat plug, then go to a junkyard and cut the female end out of another truck, then splice them together. I would rather have one that was made by an expert. So am I missing something, or has anyone else dealt with this issue? Or am I the ONLY one?

Does the truck have an aftermarket under dash wire loom? If it has the stock under dash wire loom the connector for the column should have the half moon on it. Are you sure that there isn't a half moon to flat adapter on it already, that you can unplug? I would check under the dash and see what is there.....

I just called the mechanic and he confirmed it. This flat plug is factory fully attached, and there is NO crescent attachment under the dash.

Sounds like your truck wiring harness is not original. Can you post some pictures of it?

I had no idea the flat plug was not original. This truck was pretty unmolested when I got it back into my family, so wiring that is not original would surprise me completely. I will ask the mechanic to send me pictures of this (he is on the other side of the state).
