Maybe, says they won't fit automatic transmission though.

Yeah, I'm wondering if maybe that only applies to those early trucks he is talking about (the mid 50s trucks)

Says their designed to fit 55-59 trucks, so theres a huge difference between a 59 and an 80.

Why not just buy some new ones? Mine are Summit and they only cost $79. At least going that way you know they would fit.
