What parts are hard to find? 67-72
Please enlighten me on which parts are hard to find for these 67-72 chevy trucks
I frequent the bone yards out here in So Cal, but Ive never really looked for anything other than 65-72 musclecar parts |

Most wanted!!!!!
People are always looking for "original" shift linkage for the AT for these trucks. I had to repair the linkage on mine because no-one had seen these parts for a long time. The trans has an 'I' and the other linkage is an 'H'. I'm sure someone will post pictures.

You might want to add Power Brake Push Rod. (The one that goes from the brake pedal to the booster rod.

If you see any 70-72 Blazers, the plastic caps on the tops of the doors are fetching high $, the strip that seals the hatch at the top of the tailgate, good rocker boxes, unrusted windshield frames... rear hatch hardware, thats, all I can think of now

Things to look for at junkyard
Here is a list off the top of my head of things to pull from a 67-72 truck that you will have no problems selling (as long you don't change an arm and a leg)
Chrome Vent windows, even better if they are factory tinted. Any body or window trim IN PERFECT SHAPE. Perfect 67 style front fender and rear step side fenders Ebrake Cover (67-68) Tach dash Speed warning dash stock AM/FM radio Lighter or radio delete Tow hooks Shoulder belts Complete seatbelt sets (better if near perfect) (67-68) Custom Camper emblems in perfect shape Perfect 67-68 door panels (not metal ones) Perfect Sun Visors Bucket seats Any perfect grills whole or parts Short Fleet bed sides any of the original hub caps if perfect perfect steering wheels heater or AC controls if all levers are not broken There are lots of other things as well, but this is what I look for when I see a new truck in the yard. Most of these things will sell on ebay pretty quickly!! |

Great guys, I will be looking for these items, I know of a couple yards that very few people know about
As far as prices, I personally rather trade for musclecar parts, but if you have nothing to trade, no problem, Im not greedy, I'll ask the group whats fair Some of this stuff I know I'll find, Ive noticed several items listed just in passing by the trucks Seems like alot of 67-8 stuff on the list Last edited by 72dually; 05-06-2004 at 11:17 PM. |

8Door...my 4x4 lwb driveshaft would be too short for a 2wd, because of the transfer case and transmission compared to just the trans in a 2wd...I'll keeep my eyes open for one though.

How about the door caps that go on top of a blazer door with a no hardtop option. These didnt even have glass in them. I need a set. Look in the build book to see them.

Whats the build book?
Remember, the truck thing is new to me, ask me about 65-72 musclecars and its a different story, Im rarely stumped Send a picture, thats easiest for me I did see a blazer, and also a speed warning set-up, but I had been removing parts for 4hrs, I was tired, and didnt know if I even had enough money to buy the parts I did get, fortunately I did, with a $20 left over to get me a (price gouging) measily 4.2 gallons of regular unleaded Im so sick of california, cant wait to move to Arizona, only a couple more months |

If you`re really into going this far,good`67-`68 grille/core supports.I see people looking for these alot.We`ve covered it pretty well,but here`s a couple more.Big block motor brackets and P/S pumps.Good doors,tailgates, and fenders,better than repro.Suburban specifics like:doors(all),gate/hatch,rear 1/4s,gas tanks and A/C parts.Uncracked Blazer hatches and gas tanks.Also shift linkages,2&4wd.and,oh yeah,GMC grilles.Sorry you asked yet?Enjoy yourself.
